The photographed body, which is often a trigger of immediate desire and arousal, is fulfilling here a function amalgamated to the annotations practiced on it, and what these annotations originate is the dismantling of desire. There is a sort of opening of the representation, by means of all these annotations, opening it and depriving it of a unique function, the masturbatory excitatory one.
The industry that generates images of consumption as elements of sexual detonation is being questioned at the same time that it is being made explicit, the annotations are trying to improve what has been photographed, and that accumulation of annotations begins to generate another type of image by accumulation in our minds.
The expectation that we have of desire is discussed, when we desire something we seek immediate gratification, the graphic additions – be they annotations or traces – what they do is delay, and that delay becomes more and more intense, until we result in something other than desire and its satisfaction.
